Wayne Smith, founder of the Hyde
Park Academy of Scholastic Chess,
Inc. is a tournament chess player
with a passion for the game. Mr.
Smith has over 25 years of
experience as a scholastic and adult
competitor; he provides a wealth of
knowledge for his students. While
coaching Chicago's Beasley
Academic Center chess team from
1999 to 2005, Mr. Smith as has guide
the school to five city championships
in the last six years.
Our in-house classes are held on
Saturdays at Kennicott Park, located
4437 South Lake Park in Chicago.
We also have number of on site
classes at several Chicago Public
Schools, Charter Schools and private
schools thought out the city.
We have two chess camps that
operate from June 26th to August 4th,
2006 and from August 7th to August
25th. Kids are guaranteed to a great
